Coloured Pencils and Sutff

sauropods

Using coloured pencils. Drawing dinosaurs is harder these days, because of all the changes research has made as to what they looked like. Apparently sauropods had stiff, non-curvy necks, holding them below the shoulder line, kind of like Eeyore. Should try to find someone else's rendition that makes this look convincing. Otherwise, my head is filled with the traditional images from picture books.

Ooh, man! The more I look at that, the worse the "stiff neck" thing looks!

Below, thinking of the term "boy shoulders," which some fashion snark type used to criticise a model. One more thing for women to worry about, in terms of self-image.

So, "boy shoulders" is a bad thing now? I'd love to have them, rather than "dumpy old lady shoulders", but that would require more time with the weights. I recall seeing Sarah Conner in the second Terminator movie and wanting to look that good. Alas, the inspiration didn't last more than a couple of years.

Hey, what happened to my "lowbrow" description?

I'm so sorry! I post off-the-cuff remarks in my link descriptions, and then generally winnow them out as further experience renders them not as appropriate-seeming.

Of course then, they are safer and boring.
